I'm a wife, mom, dog lover, coffee addict, and book nerd. After eight years of teaching middle school English, my passion for helping others led me to pursue my dream of becoming a personal trainer.
Fitness has always been a big part of my life, from playing competitive tennis to skiing in the winters. My love for strength training began in high school, but I developed an unhealthy relationship with food and saw the gym as punishment.
Juggling work and being a new mom, I lost touch with myself and struggled with self-love and an eating disorder during postpartum. That's when I turned to Alyssa at A2Z Fitness. With her guidance, I rediscovered strength training and developed a healthy relationship with food, seeing it as fuel for my body.
After having my son, I found myself lost in the postpartum blues. While I wouldn’t trade being a mom for anything, it did come with a sense of losing myself in the process. I gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy, and on my 4’11” frame, it felt like a heavy burden, both mentally and emotionally. I didn’t “bounce back” like I thought I would.
My life had always revolved around sports, but between work and caring for a newborn, finding time to work out seemed impossible. I tried short 30-minute workouts at home with little success and even attempted running—a hobby I didn’t enjoy.
After two years of struggling, I decided it was time to prioritize myself. I started working with a trainer, set clear goals, and gradually fell in love with myself again, making time for my well-being. The difference you see in these photos is the result of a year’s dedication. I would love to help you on your fitness journey!
